Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

This shop is absolutely amazing!! From the moment we walked in, they made us feel like more than just customers. They got us right in and took care of the problem without any hassle. Every employee we interacted with was so kind and welcoming, and it truly meant a lot that the owner remembered us from our last visit. That personal touch is rare these days. You can tell they genuinely care, and they work efficiently without ever making you feel rushed. We are so grateful—thank you all so much!!

Prices based on 5-star reviews? What kind of shady, backwards bullshit is that? This whole setup feels like a straight-up scam designed to squeeze every damn dollar out of you. The more good reviews they get, the more they jack up the prices? That’s greedy as hell. It’s like they’re punishing customers for other people leaving positive feedback. How does that even make sense? And let’s talk about my Volvo truck. I brought my damn Volvo truck in expecting it to get fixed properly. Instead? They didn’t fix a single damn thing. The problem is still there exactly the same as before. Same issue, same symptoms, same headache. But somehow they had no problem handing me a fat bill like they actually did something useful. They charged me for basically nothing. Labor fees, inspection fees, random charges that don’t even make sense — for what? For wasting my time? For pretending to look at it? It feels like they just poked around, shrugged, and said “that’ll be a few hundred (or thousand) bucks.” That’s straight-up bullshit. Not recommended……. ⛔️

These guys (Hawkins Trailer Supply, Baldwin Truck and Trailer, and McWhorters Tire Service) are amazing!!! During a recent move from CA to TN, we sheared off the lug bolts on one of the axles on our cargo trailer. The loss of that tire overweighted the second axle bending it to the point it needed to be replaced. It just so happened that the damage occurred in Amarillo. And of course it was on a Saturday at 4:30 PM. No one was open to help. Because of a similar prior incident, we were able to make an emergency roadside repair that allowed us to get to a local hotel. We had to stay there until Monday. On Monday morning, we were able to locate Hawkins Trailer Supply. At Hawkins we were able to get two heavy duty axles and all of the suspension parts. While at Hawkins, we asked for help finding someone who could install the new axles and suspension, that morning. Nathan and the other front office staff immediately went into action trying to locate a shop that could get us in that morning for a full two axle and suspension replacement. They called several local shops. Baldwin Truck and Trailer said they could make that happen. We grabbed the parts, went back to the hotel and searched
